TASCAM, the company that invented the home studio revolution, is one of four
divisions of the TEAC Corp., a $1.2 billion manufacturing company
headquartered in Japan which specializes in digital and analog recording
technologies. TEAC was founded by the Tani brothers in 1953; the original
product line was comprised of open reel recorders. In the late 1960's the Tani
brothers and Dr. Abe, a senior engineer at TEAC, formed a special R&D group
named TASC (TEAC Audio Systems Corp.) for the purpose of researching ways
to apply TEAC's recording technology for musicians and recording studios.
TASCAM Corp. (TASC AMerica Corp.) was established in 1971 for the purpose
of distributing TASC products in the U.S. and conducting additional market
research.
EAR is proud to be the TASCAM reseller in the Southwest United
States since 1978. We've evolved with TASCAM from home recording
1/4" 4 track analog tape machines to 64 track digital disk
based recording systems.
